Looking for opinions on my New Warriors re-write by a non-fan/non-comic reader

So I'm not a comic reader but the news of the various happenings with in the comic industry tend to peek my dabbling interests of political science and marketing.
So when I saw the new "New Warriors" backlash I couldn't get it out of head that night so I laid in bed for the next 3 hours just working out what could make the characters more interesting.
I recognize that by not being a comic reader beyond Dilbert I'm probably making a lot of mistakes but I'm honestly curious as to what actual comic readers would think of my changes.
I'm leaving actual character designs to far more talented people though.
So to start off with "Screentime" I came up with the idea that instead of some "Internet Gas" bullshit that instead he would have a large optical data storage crystal shatter over his head and embed thousands of various sized shards of the nanocrystals that make up one of these storage crystals.
Idea came from this Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5D_optical_data_storage
Now where I take it and twist it from reality is that all of these shards pickup various electromagnetic waves like Wi-Fi, Radio, Cell towers, etc... and being embedded in his brain means that he is still connected to the internet 24/7 unless he is in a Faraday Cage. Now as for his character I wanted to depict a teen that is both overwhelmed by the amount of information he now has sometime unwillingly cascading through his head kind of like ADD and the fact that he can find out everyone’s secrets both good and bad.
Every text, every camera, every file server, if it has a electronic connection of some sort even a very low powered wireless one if he is in range he can access it regardless of passwords or firewalls. I wanted to highlight the he would make his own personal code of conduct not to speak of any of the things he now knows unless he is specifically working on solving a particular crime. So if he is searching for a murder and finds out that the murders best friend is a rapist he wouldn't tell anyone of this finding as its beyond the scope of his search.
At times I would show that the weight of basically trusting himself not to violate everyone's privacy unwarranted is a unspeakable burden for a teenager. However as a teenager he would find silver linings to his power, like literally unlimited porn of every type imaginable, watching movies right off of the studios hard drives, mining bitcoin in his sleep, most importantly for his combat ability being able to access a vast library of 3D printed weapon designs and the machines to produce these weapons thus meaning that he is armed with the latest and greatest small arms.
As I mentioned before if Screentime is in a Faraday Cage he loses his internet connection this can be used to give him a break from the overwhelming information he is constantly exposed to help him sleep or by a villain trying to remove his intelligence gathering ability.
The only other thing that can block his reception is his Team mate Deadzone's shields. So next up on my rewrite hit parade is Snowflake and the now renamed Deadzone. Power wise Deadzone is the by far the most changed. Where before he could only raise shields if someone he cared for was in danger, which is the single biggest load of shit ever. Now he can raise various sized shields and shield bubbles at will.
The thing about his shields is that they are all 3D shields meaning that while they are however tall and wide as Deadzone needs they are all 1 inch thick. Within these shields is a perfect void: No matter and no energy within. This means that say a Cyclops like laser blast is absorbed by this void until you get to a point where the interior of the shield is either full of energy or matter at which point the shield should be deactivated.
However Deadzone can run the risk of holding the shield longer and suddenly the shield becomes an explosive as this void is now so full of energy or matter that only Deadzones powers are holding them together. This has its tactical uses but it can be hard to judge as if he releases the shield to soon or too fast then he can create a vacuum bomb inadvertently. This requires an extreme amount of focus if Deadzone is to avoid collateral damage and if he makes a shield too big for him to hold and/or it doesn't receive enough damage to fill up the void completely before he drops it he can easily do more harm than good.
I should also note that while I mostly stayed away from speaking on the art design because I don't have enough skill to come up with a better original design than spandex suits. Deadzone and his powers are no longer pink. He looks the typical African-American athlete and his shields are pitch black due to their void like nature.
Snowflake is actually more or less unchanged as far as powers go being your typical cryokinetic. The biggest change I would make is remove her woke pro-noun nonsense as that doesn't add anything to the character.
Now the biggest change to both of these characters is their relationship to each other and how it effects how they interact with the rest of the world. So in some of the art that has been posted made them look to be far more than just brother and sister and seeing that they otherwise have relatively little less to make them standout as characters I decided to take that implied relationship and go straight for the teeth.
So yes they are in a fully active incestuous relationship, this massive dark secret has made them comparatively insular especially when it comes to making friends however its also given them a different perspective on life. They see the penalty for being underaged superheroes as a comparative slap on the wrist compared to their main “crime” and thus show a willingness to engage in their work that is matched by few others.
They are more emphatic then most of the other team members save for Screentime but that is because he probably already knows why someone is doing or acting the way they are. They are not woke however they simply accept people as they are and move on, not trying to draw attention lest that attention get turned on them and their secret gets out. This is their single greatest fear beyond loosing one another.
The last character that I managed to rewrite is Trailblazer. She remains the leader and the “mother” of the group much as she had done in her foster home. She volunteers a lot both to help others and to hide the crippling depression of taking on so many burdens. This however has still reared it ugly head in her eating habits leading to her heavy build.
After she gets sucked into the superhero role she one night hears a endless chanting coming from a box of things she had left from her parents among which is her grandfather's backpack. This backpack is a pocket dimension but beyond that time within the backpack can slow down greatly as much as 1000 years inside the backpack can pass for every second in the real world if the user so wishes it.
Trailblazer sticks her head inside this backpack and falls in and meets a ancient Native American warrior ancestor this is the spirit that gives the backpack its power. He offers to train her inside the backpack much like Goku in DragonballZ using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to do a years worth of training in only a day.
Trailblazer takes him up on his offer and for the next 5 years or 5 hours in reality she is put through a grueling training regimen that turns the overweight teenager into a toned though still “thic” warrior. She is gifted a Spirit Tomahawk to serve as her permanent weapon that is always at her side as a symbol of completing her training and the new connection that she has with her ancestors.
Though armed with this Tomahawk she still can receive or summon weapons from her backpack though her control of this ability right now is limited to simple melee weapons or bows and arrows unless she has time to sit down and focus on the backpack completely to summon a more complex object like a gun and its ammo.
B-Negitive is where I finally threw in the towel. I have no idea who this Michael Morbius is and I couldn't see of any redeeming character trait or feature to draw from. Maybe if he was more human I could do a teenage Blade but I don't know how as a upstart writer to pull that off from the current state without just scraping the character completely.
I'm looking for opinions and feedback as I have little else to do while on shelter-in-place and when I posted this in Marvel I got nothing after 5 days, I'm really curious to see if I was on to something.

1.4 What are the elements of a complete strategy?

1.4 What are the elements of a complete strategy?

Summary

A complete strategy is actually a set of rules that traders give themselves. It includes all aspects of the trading, and does not leave a little room for subjective imagination. Every choices of buying and selling, the strategy will give an answer. It includes at least strategy selection, variety selection, fund management, order placing, extreme market situation response and so on.

Strategy choosing

From the perspective of hedge funds, mainstream trading strategies can be divided into trend trading, paired trading, basket trading, event-driven, high-frequency trading, option strategy, etc., as shown below.

https://preview.redd.it/fau662l3t3s41.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=890162efc3c87553c9bd8db0521a0a7bb903f9c3
Of course, the way of strategy classification is not fixed. For the beginners, don't worry about so many noun concepts, let's start from the simplest. If only one type of quantitative trading strategy is recommended, it will be the trend trading, which is the most simple and effective. I believe that even if you don't have a systematic knowledge of financial learning, you can still use it. And this strategy has been around for a long time. Among the early public-published trading strategies, it is still effective in many markets today, because human nature is difficult to change.

What to buy and sell

Those who have done trading should know that each variety has its own personality. Some varieties are very popular, with good liquidity, large fluctuations, and high volatility; some varieties are very "docile", and they are oscillating within a certain range all year round, with low volatility.

https://preview.redd.it/zut9xw07t3s41.png?width=940&format=png&auto=webp&s=5eeb4dd6d649cf3a557c700d26cba273ffe06ec8
Therefore, when choosing a trading variety, there must be a concept of volatility. Varieties with high volatility are often easy to get out of a good trend. For commodity futures, if it is a trend-tracking strategy, try to choose industrial products. In terms of variety attributes, industrial products tend to be more volatile than agricultural products. For crypto trading, choose those major coins, such as bitcoin, eth, eos and so on.
Different strategies adapt to different market conditions. Choosing a good trading variety, which is a very crucial beginning for the future trading project. In absolute terms, there are no absolutely good varieties and no absolutely bad varieties. Depending on the investment style and the risk tolerance, you need to adjust accordingly to your own standards.

How much to buy and sell

It is easy to loss money when trading. When the account fund loses 50%, the loss will require 100% profit to recover it. Even if you can earn 100% many times, you only need to lose 100% once, which will lose it all. So mature trading strategies should include money management.
In order to facilitate everyone's understanding, here also use the average line strategy of the previous section to explain. In fact, many trading strategies built with traditional technical indicators have a maximum retracement rate of more than 50% or more. But is a risky strategy completely unusable?
Obviously not, the maximum retracement rate can be completely controlled by money management. If you cut the position by half, the overall risk will be reduced by half, and the maximum retracement rate will be 30%. If you reduce the position by half again, the maximum retracement rate will become 15%. Finally, we get a maximum retracement rate at around 15%. This is a simple and easy method of money management. Many people know that they can't go all in, but they don't know why. The answer is here.

When to buy and sell

A good jump in point is very important, and it allows you to get out of the cost zone quickly. But there will never be anyone who can tell you that it is right at this point, and it is wrong at that point. Opening a position is not the core of the trading. The core of the trading is how to optimize the position after opening the position.
Whether it is a short-term strategy or a long-term strategy, it doesn't matter how long the position will be holding, the important is the risk-to-profit ratio. In other words, the final result that affects the performance of the strategy is how to play and when to cash out. The cash out method can be divided into two types: stop loss and take profit. Both of these parts are necessary for any trading system and are an important watershed for the success or failure of trading strategies.

How to buy

1, Type and method of order placement: There are many types and methods of placing orders, such as: queuing limit orders, opponent price, latest price, over price, daily limit price, buying one price, buying two price, selling one price, selling two price. or use the queue price first, then use the over-price, sending batch order, or split the big order into small orders, or simply place the order directly.
2, Withdraw order If there are unexecuted orders, whether continue waiting or withdraw the order. The condition for the withdrawal is based on the time. For example, there is no transaction within 10 seconds. The price has been 10 units away from the order price, whether to continue waiting, withdrawing or chasing the new price.
3, chase the price When the order is unexecuted, whether to chase the price. If chasing the price, it is to chase according to the latest price, or the opponent price, or the limit price? If the order is still not executed, whether continue to pursue the latest price.
4, the price limit When the order signal appears, it happens to be the limit price. Whether should to queue up the price.
5, set bidding Do we need to participate in the market opening stage, how to participate.
6, night-time market Some commodity futures varieties are from 21:00 to 02:30 the next day and all crypto trading are 27/7. Do we need participate these time period. Manually or automatically?
7, Major holidays Before a long holiday, do we need clear all position or reduce some of them.

Extreme market situation

1, Short-term price fluctuations The price of the price suddenly huge rises and falls (black swan situation) etc., how to deal with these situations (as shown in the figure, the Swiss franc black swan event).
2, Liquidity risk If the other side of trading direction order depth does not have the amount you want to execute, but you need to execute immediately. especially if the non-main commodity future contract is very rare, it is easy to make a price jump to the market. How to deal with it when the price slippage is large.
3, Variety trading rules change Commodity futures varieties are added to the night-time market and the crypto trading is 24/7. the margin ratio is raised, and the commission fee is raised, especially the short-term trading strategy, which is very sensitive to these changes.
4, Trading environment risk For example: sudden power failure, network disconnection, computer failure, software downtime, suspension of bank transfer, natural disasters, etc., how to deal with it when it occurs.
In the above case, the probability of occurrence is small, or almost impossible. But if things can happen, it will happen. It is very necessary to make these assumptions and prevent them.

Psychological construction

The three main psychological emotions commonly in trading are greed, fear and lucky. Investors need a strong trading psychology system to control and even use the above three emotions at different stages.

https://preview.redd.it/d0px773ft3s41.png?width=804&format=png&auto=webp&s=e073070345acf1e0727b9c47fc3543ecb2e7ad9b
There must be an overall expectation for the future before you placing an order, including market expectations and variety psychological expectations. Market expectations have a clearer target for the location and future direction of the market. Variety expectations refer to the trading opportunities and risk profiles of the variety at its current location. Without the above psychological foundation, nothing can be done.
The whole process of real market trading is the process of continuous analysis, correction and execution. During the trading period, there are not many transactions, and more is tracking and endurance. This is a process of comprehensively examining the state of mind and testing human nature. The various habits of traders will be revealed and enlarged during the transaction process. Only by continuously learning and summarizing lessons after lessons, can we overcome the commonalities and psychological weaknesses of human nature.

To sum up

In summary, the so-called trading strategy is actually like this. When it has its perfect side and when it is incomplete, we can measure whether a trading strategy is reasonable. We can’t just look at his perfect side, and can’t just look at his broken side. On the one hand, it is more important to analyze the integrity of the strategy.
Finally, according to the characteristics of the strategy, combined with trader's own personality and financial situation to measure whether the strategy is suitable for themselves, if it is suitable for themselves, it is necessary to fully assess how likely it is to persist, the worst results must be planned in advance, if the most You have thought about the miserable side happens, you still can take it, then the possibility of implementation is relatively large.
Remember, in trading, confidence comes from your inner recognition, and confidence comes from the right trading philosophy!

Next section notice

This article is the last one of the first chapter. In the next chapter, we will focus on quantitative trading tools for further explanation, including: a comprehensive introduction to quantitative tools, how to configure quantitative trading systems, common API explanations, and how to quantify a trading systems. Write a strategy on it.

Proposal - Makes 'bits' (1 millionth BCH) the standard denomination and 'BIT' the ticker.

I'll preface this by saying that, because of the social issue this is not going to be easy to implement. To be specific, if bitcoincash.org does not adopt this, then it will not be adopted broadly. Most people consider bitcoincash.org to be the 'official' website, and therefore they will not implement changes unless it is implemented there first. So for this reason, if you support this proposal, please make your voice heard.

Proposal Summary
  1. Make the standard denomination to 'bit' instead of Bitcoin Cash/BCH.
  2. Make the ticker for Bitcoin Cash 'BIT' and have it valued at 1/1,000,000 Bitcoin Cash.

Why 'bits'?
  1. 'Bit' is a single syllable word that is easy to pronounce by essentially culture in the world.
  2. 'Bits' are what digital things are made of.
  3. 'Bit' already has an association with money.
  4. 'Bit' means a piece of something.
  5. 'Bit' can be used as symbol with 'ƀ' or in short-hand as 'b', i.e. 2000 bits = 2000b
  6. 'Bit' is already a part of the word 'Bitcoin'.
  7. 'It functions extremely well in terms of grammar.
  8. 'Bit' only has three letters.
  9. 'Bit' is already in use and is very familiar to a large portion of the Bitcoin community.
  10. 'Bit' is used perfectly fine in the french language already.

Why 1/1,000,000 Bitcoin Cash and why the 'BIT' ticker?
  1. People consistently claim that Bitcoin (Cash) is 'expensive'. This is non-sensical but extremely important. If they feel it is expensive they are unlikely to buy it and then get involved.
  2. If people buy $20 worth of BIT they will receive 16,000BIT i.e. 16,000 bits, i.e. 16,000b. This feels like they got a lot of something. Compare this to 0.016BCH, which feels like they got hardly anything.
  3. The BIT ticker fits with the 'bit' denomination. In fact there is no way to read it wrong or misunderstand it as it is the full word.
  4. 'BIT' is a part of the words 'Bitcoin Cash'.
  5. People are not easily able to grasp very small numbers. '10b' is much easier to understand and type than '0.00001BCH'.
  6. Many people new to Bitcoin Cash do not understand that you can buy/use less than 1BCH.
  7. When using bits and sats (satoshis), the value is mapped to 100 sats = 1 bit. This is what many countries are already familiar with. e.g. 100 cents = 1 dollar.
  8. We will never have to change this again. If we set this as a standard now, we are ready to be THE global currency.
  9. The BIT ticker is currently unused.
  10. The BCH ticker was actually given to us by Core trolls just like the 'bcash' name. The only reason it got adopted was because BCC was already used by Bitconnect.
  11. Instead of having to spell out the letters when spoken i.e. with BCH = 'bee see haych' you can simply say 'bit' with BIT.

So how do we make this happen?
  1. The first thing that needs to happen is that you need to show your support below in the thread.
  2. You need to share this thread on social media and show your support there.
  3. You need to contact the wallets and ask them to make this the standard.
  4. You need to contact the protocol development teams and ask them to make it the standard.
  5. You need to support the change to this standard on bitcoincash.org once a pull request has been made.
  6. You need to start using the term bits as much as possible.
  7. I will speak to as many industry leaders as possible and ask for their support.
  8. The miners do not need to support this standard but it would help if it had their backing.
  9. (This is the hard bit) Once all of the above is done, we need to get every single exchange onboard with the change.
  10. We set a date for the change, I propose 1st August 2018, Bitcoin Cash Independence Day.
  11. We get very loud on social media and make sure every single participant in the ecosystem is fully aware of the new change.
  12. Celebrate, we just made history.

If the community supports this proposal, I will personally work very hard to get the major players onboard with it. From what I have seen so far, bits already has very significant support. I think there are a few parties that may be a little difficult to convince, but I hope when they see how strong the community support is for this, then they will get behind it.

Hey, I could also be completely wrong, and no one wants this. At the end of the day, this is all completely voluntary, but it doesn't mean we can't all volunteer to implement excellent standards. Put your thoughts below.

EDIT: Here is a voted for the different terms for denominations in wallets. Go have your say.

Trojan malscripts; **what are they?**

in this post you will learn a little about publicly available information on malscripts
what is a trojan.malscript? -a quick google search turns up this result from 2014 (outdated?)
Search Results (Featured snippet from the web) Systems Affected: Windows - Trojan. Malscript is a heuristic detection for Web-based malicious script files that exploit vulnerabilities and/or perform heap spraying.-Sep 3, 2014- -Trojan.Malscript | Symantec- -https://www.symantec.com › security-center › writeup-
-not very clear!... lets try learn some more!!.. *another quick google search gives up some information about other systems not just windows affected
-If we add keywords like linux we get varied results such as this (albeit, older but w/e)
Search Results (Featured snippet from the web) -Systems Affected: Linux, Mac, Solaris, Windows.- Trojan. Malscript. C is a generic detection for HTML files infected with a JavaScript that redirects the browser to a malicious Web site that may exploit the browser or download other malicious threats.-Jan 30, 2010- -Trojan.Malscript.C | Technical Details | Removing Help ...- -https://us.norton.com › trojan.malscript.c-2010-013011-2940-99-writeup.html-
so given a couple quick searches we can guess a bit -we need: *java *HTML *access to the internet somehow (could be by an offline file touching an online source; this puts the item at risk for "contracting" offline ai or crawling codes)
another way would be
*write a "safe" code on here on reddit but its gonna take me time since reddit allows this:
if 1 * 2 < 3: print "hello, world!"
this can be achieved by possibly writing a code to a site that had malscripts already deployed such as an embed code, or request in an "iframe"
  • Alot of people may remember sites such as:
https://www.xanga.com and various other places; *these places allowed HTML editing for themes and overall page layout -sites such as http://www.neopets.com etc. had/have this ability as well.

-these sites are great examples of how easy it could be to place an HTML or java malscript that was made to either be good/bad/both; especially now, given our extremely large usage of internet!
Sure; #scareme... what can a trojan.malscript do!
quick learned facts:

get to know my computer better? #thisajoke??
Nah, over the years Ive collected knowledge and some more common answers to basic questions in cyber security, qustions like "what is a malscript"? have simple answers, mostly... things like these 5 objects can be defined as being malscript:
  • Anti-virus
  • Anti-malware
  • anti-execution mechanisms
  • any word processor may or may not be defined as malscript if it can "spell check" your work or place a timestamp
  • third party input/output mechanism; things such as mouses, sd, usb, cd, internet(s) that crawl for information like web.archive, bitcoin code, cryptocode overall if it has a weakness to malscripted behaviours
there are MULTIPLE other reasons, one such problem is:
mass-malware campaigns and adware from older computers attempting to propogate and control older versions of networks that no longer work as expected/coded to seek
^ this type of malscript "poorly planned, and hastily executed or outdated"; can have adverse impacts on the internet as a whole - not just for the computers expected to be impacted.
ok, malscripts. so what can #I do?
when approaching cyber security its easy to become overwhelmed by the amount of information that is available; to research; to dissect; to use as examples...
what the best thing anyone or a group can do?;
attempt to make an effort to learn about the item a bit before, using or expecting them to work a certain way; due to a biased info source like ones own
also:
seek outside sources, but also be careful an use knowledge seeked as knowledge that may or may not be "useful" for the current project or situation...
this post was an attempt to gain knowledge and some skills in writing and information sharing.

The Instagram Handle Selling Business (long post)

First of all, what is an OG username?
An OG username is a virtual account that has a name such as a verb/noun/place/animal etc. This makes the account's value go up. Now you may ask yourself, why would I want such accounts? These accounts aren't modified like most of them are, meaning that they don't have "xx" or numbers which make them unique". For example, Kiwi is an OG name, but KiwiIsCool, Kiwi5 or Kiwising (2 prefixes aren't even semi) wouldn't be classified as OG. However, "Kiwis" would be Semi-OG as it is plural or has an added suffix or prefix. ( -s, -ing, -ed, -er, etc)
Having an OG or Semi-OG name makes you get more noticed and recognized. In other words, owning an OG username make you look cool and shows a high social status among young fellows. It shows that you are an early adopter of a platform.
Second of all, where do you sell an OG username?
You could sell an OG username at pretty much any online forum that offers a wild west-type marketplace.
Now, how did I make money?
There are so many ways (many of which are illegal) but the most common is to buy and resell. Just like buying and selling shoes/clothing products. Buy low, sell high
My story about selling instagram handles:
It started out with my affiliation with dealing Minecraft accounts. I have a reddit previous reddit post about this that you can view by looking at my posts. I was deep into the online account selling community and would say I was reputable enough to get into other marketplaces. I had funds set aside from mining crypto, selling minecraft accounts, and fortnite accounts (which I will get into on another post).
Anyways, I had connects from the Minecraft community. A long time friend of mine (let's call him Bobby) that was known for selling some of the most top tier accounts ended up moving over to selling social media accounts. Bobby had several methods of retrieving these top tier social media handles. The handles he owned ranged from $100 to $5000. He had a list of over 200 usernames. Now how did he get these accounts? There could've been 3 ways:
Recreating Emails, Turboing/Autoclaiming, and Jacking,
  1. He recreated the emails that the instagram accounts reside on. For example, username @ Hello is on the email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). Yet, the email is many years inactive and also the instagram is also 5 years+ inactive so in all honesty, who uses the account? Nobody. It's an asset waiting to be recovered. So in order to find the email that the instagram account @ Hello, Bobby searches through leaked databases, leaked email lists, and public or private 0day exploits. All of this info is legal and out there on public databases. After finding the email, chances are it's on a common email provider (yahoo, outlook, hotmail). Bobby then submits a support ticket to the email support with some info and ends up getting a brand new email that matches the Instagram email @ Hello. Sends a password reset link to the email. Then boom, he's in. Once he has access to the account, he can list his new asset for sale on the forums.
  2. The second way that he could've claimed this many accounts is by turbo. A turbo is a program thats coded by someone who knows what they're doing. I guess you can kind of relate turbos to hypebeast/sneaker check out bots. What it is essentially, is spamming the name change button super fast, like 10x faster than a human can ever do it. So pretty much the program is either running 24/7 with servers with a huge username list or targeting specific usernames hoping that when the person who owns the handle changes the username, the program will snag it up on either a already created instagram account or a fresh uncreated email one.
  3. The third way is by jacking. And this right here folks is illegal. Sim Swapping is one of these jacking ways. So someone steals your phone number and gets the two factor authentication codes then steals whatever else is connected to your phone number. The next way is by finding a way to get into the recovery email of your primary email. Which first of all is probably found by searching through legit, public, leaked databases. You'd be surprised what they got in these leaked databases. It doesn't take much to just search an email up and find anything connected to it. Anyways, Bobby jacks the email or instagram account. Boom! Flips it for profit.
So Bobby here has loads of instagram accounts, I have no idea how he got em. But the most common ways to obtain them are listed above. Very rarely do people buy a username from someone just by DM'ing on instagram. This story starts with me buying 2 short usernames for $750. I proceeded to list these 2 usernames separately on the forums and sold one for $700 only a few days after posting and the other for $500. Profit was good, I was motivated. Of course when I listed the usernames online, I got many people attempting to waste my time and scam me by not sending the funds first. I noticed this because these users that messaged me had a low reputation.
Furthermore, I knew I had profited from this and I saw more potential. I decided to buy 10 usernames that had values from $300-$1000 for $3000 in Bitcoin. You're probably wondering how I even have money for this? Quick answer, I mined cryptocurrency back in 2018 and made a good savings amount from it. $3000 is a big leap from $750 I'd say. After I bought these, I proceeded to list em all separately on the forums and began selling them one by one for bitcoin. People messaged me, we talked, boom. These accounts sold only weeks after I listed them and I ended up profiting around $850-$900 after selling all of my accounts.
After I got rid of that batch, I was ready to pick up another batch. 10 accounts for $4000 this time. Same process, secure accounts, list them on forums with set prices. Receive messages from potential buyers, talk to people, negotiate. I was selling about 2 accounts per week. There was this one time I messaged a business with the username account that they are known for. They were extremely interested, so I go ahead and price the username at $1000. They accept the price, send the money via paypal and I hand over the details. That just goes to show what type of value instagram handles have towards businesses. I priced about each account $300 above how much I paid. And made good profit. That is until the price of bitcoin went up 40%+. All the profit I made from this batch almost split in half because the price of Bitcoin went up. I was back to square one but with a few accounts left with potential to profit more.
I made quite the reputation for myself on the forums for selling top notch username accounts. I had repeating customers and people coming back for more and more every re-up. I stopped picking up batches of accounts when College Semester Fall 2019 approached due to my busyness. All in all, I learned lots about hustling instagram accounts, talking to people, building a reputation, and having a right mindset for this type of thing. I profited around $2000 but would've probably made so much more if the price of Bitcoin didn't go up 40%. All this shows that the internet market is still growing. And with more and more businesses and people getting involved with instagram/social media, means values and demand skyrocketing. I noticed this is just the dotcom era and instagram handles will sell just like domains sometime in the future.

Beginner's Guide to Trading Crypto. Part 5

Beginner's Guide to Trading Crypto. Part 5

Talk The Trader Talk: A Journey Into The Realm Of Trader Slang

Slang is a natural evolution of a language under working conditions. Every industry has its own slang vocabulary, which may or may not be composed of morphologies of words directly related to the job. Sometimes situations related to the job may evolve or devolve into adjectives, verbs, nouns of even completely new words that reflect the object in question. To the uninitiated, such terms may sound like gibberish and could well resemble the talk of thugs that has been so vividly presented many times over in television series and movies.
Whether it is pidgin, slang, argot, or a dialect, industries have their own ways of expressing their ins and outs. For instance, the exhaust system of automobiles is often called the "puffer" among mechanics, a "fat finger" is a larger than intended trade among bankers, a "gat" is a weapon among street gangs, and "all day" is a life sentence among prisoners. The lists of slang terms are endless and are an extremely interesting read.

The Trader Lingo

To make sure that MoonTrader users get into the feel of what it is like to be part of the crypto market, we have compiled a comprehensive summary of some of the most widespread slang terms used by traders. Knowing these terms is an important part of working on an exchange, as understanding what traders are talking about is half the job of becoming one of them and being able to delve into the processes taking place. To talk the talk and walk the walk, traders must understand each other and, most importantly, shorten their speech into a mixture of phrases comprehensible only for the initiated and mystical to outsiders.
Babysitting: A slang term used by traders all over the world from Wall Street to the most obscure exchanges in Africa. The term means holding a trade that has been losing out for a while in hopes that it will gain in price, usually in vain. For example: “You’ve been babysitting that option for way too long, it’s a hopeless cause.”
Crunching: A situation in which a stock’s or asset’s price starts falling rapidly and has no support levels. For example: “The XXX stock is going down the drain. It’s crunching, leave it!”
Jig Out: This is a situation when the market makes a sudden turn for the worse and an investor or trader loses out as a result. For example: “The YYY stock jigged out on me today. Lost half a mil.”
Learning Curve: A fairy common expression meaning the amount of time and effort someone, such as a budding new trader, has to put into something to master the art and “learn the ropes”. For example: “The learning curve for Forex is pretty steep.”
Melt: Another fairly common expression that can be encountered in the world of finance, which signifies that a lot of money has been lost and an account has been depleted. For example: “My account melted through today after the market jigged me out on that nut.”
Nut: While nuts may be tasty as a snack or very useful for keeping things bound together with bolts, in trading a nut is the total amount of commissions that have to be paid for a certain trade. For example: “The nut on ZZZ is crazy these days.”
Permabull / Permabear: Since bullish markets are positive and bearish markets are sleepy, the traders working on such a market are called bulls or bears. There are some optimists who believe that such markets are always there. These traders are called permabulls. The opposite are permabears. For example: “Even if the market is dead and floating, he will still act like a permabull”.

Printing on the “O”: If we consider that O is an extreme abbreviation of the term “Override”, then the phrase means that the price of an asset is below the bid price and there is an urgent need to sell it. “XYZ is printing on the Os all day!”
ScalpeScalping: The idea of scalping is opening hundreds and thousands of small trades in a short amount of time in hopes of generating a large amount of small profits. Scalpers are traders who engage in scalping. For example: “He’s a heck of a scalper.”
Slippage: A common situation for inexperienced traders who lose on assets that are insoluble and cause losses due to higher or lower prices. For example: “He’s been slipping on ZZZ for three weeks in a row.”
Squiggly Lines: Technical analysis consists of graphs and indicators that traders use to make sense of market dynamics. The lines on graphs are never straight, which would mean that the market is comatose, thus they are called squiggly, or uneven lines. For example: “I’ve been staring at the squiggly lines all day and my eyes are popping out.”
Tank: A tank is not only a military machine or a container, but also a verb, which could either mean to fill something up, like a container or a stomach, and also a drop. In this case, tanking means a market collapse. For example: “The market’s tanking! All is lost! All is lost!”
Unicorn, Vulture, Whale: The trading terminology bestiary is full of terms that have gained animalistic form. A unicorn is a situation reminiscent of the mythical beast, when a startup has reached a $1 billion valuation. A vulture is a trader who preys on falling assets and buys them up in hopes that they will rise in the future. A whale is a holder of a large amount of capital or an asset.

Stick: The US dollar has a lot of synonyms from bucks and dough to aces and greenbacks. The stick is another synonym for the US currency used in trading. For example: “Made a K load of sticks today trading XYZ.”
Whack: A fairy straightforward term meaning that a trader has lost a fair amount of money. For example: “I got whacked trading ZZZ the other day.”
Bottom Fishing: There are traders and there are speculators. When a market has “tanked”, assets usually cost much lower and a certain breed of traders emerges who start buying up assets that have lost in value in hopes of selling them off at higher prices later. Such actions are called bottom fishing, or scooping up assets that have floated to the surface of a market like dead fish after a bomb goes off underwater. For example: “The market has sunk today and the sharks are bottom fishing.”
Choppiness: The market is never a calm place and its trials and tribulations are often compared to storms and waves. Since waves can be choppy, or rough in terms of the height of their crests, it is fair to compare market volatility to wavy seas. For example: “The choppiness of the market is not allowing institutional investors to enter with their capital.”
Dark Pools: There is always liquidity on the market that is hid away from average traders. Such liquidity is called a dark pool, which is usually in the hands of special groups. In essence, these are trading volumes created by orders placed by institutional investors. For example: “The dark pools are buying up Bitcoins real quick.”
Dead Cat Bounce or Rubber Band Effect: Since markets are unpredictable, it is often possible for markets to suddenly rebound after seeming dead for a long time. Such a situation is called a dead cat bounce, or a rubber band effect, which is quite figurative in itself. For example: “The market is preparing for a possible dead cat bounce after the recent wave of news.”
Hodl: A bastardization of the term Hold, misspelled by a drunk BitcoinTalk user, which simply means holding an asset in hopes that it will rise in price. For example: “Hodl Bitcoin! Hodl it!”
Short squeeze: There are situations when an asset suddenly rises in price and forces traders to close their positions. For example: “The holders were forced to short squeeze after the price of ZZZ suddenly spiked”.
Resistance Zone: In technical analysis, this is the area between the current support and resistance areas. Prices usually start resisting other prices in such areas and may start falling. For example: “The resistance area of $120 has been reached for ZZZ and we can expect a decline to areas of $100.”

Fallen Angel: Assets that may have reached price heaven are not guaranteed to stay there and it often happens that a highly valued asset has suddenly lost in price. Usually, this biblical analogy refers to high yielding bonds that once had investment grades. For example: “ZZZ has turned into a fallen angel after the US introduced sanctions against country YYY.”
Fat Tail: In statistics, such cases are called outliers and signify that a value has moved away from the mean and has gained a high degree of riskiness. For example: “ZZZ is showing fat tails and will soon reach non-investment levels.”
Flavor: Given the abundance of types of orders and assets on the market, traders often do not distinguish between them and simply call them different flavors. For example: “How about some ZZZ flavor?”
Hit The Bid: A rather straightforward expression meaning that someone has decided to sell an asset. For example: “The price just hit the low, so go and hit the bid”.
Odd Lot: A lot is usually considered to be a million dollars. An odd lot is anything under a million dollars. For example: “I sold that odd lot of ZZZ yesterday.”
Smoke And Mirrors: The poetic expression has made its way onto the market and means that a corporate entity is distorting the market image in hopes of attaining its own goals, usually to make an asset seem more attractive. For example: “The market is all smoke and mirrors after ZZZ flushed its stocks on.”
The list of trading slang terms is endless in its variety and the only way to fully immerse one’s self into it is trading actively and gaining experience. Years of work on any market in any industry will eventually saturate a participant’s mind with the necessary skills and terminology turn any greenhorn into a pro.

History of Bitcoin Blunders: ChangeTip

For anyone that wasn't following bitcoin years ago, ChangeTip was an annoying service that allowed people to "tip" other users with fractional amounts of bitcoin via reddit comments. The service was ultimately sold for scrap in 2016.
ChangeTip worked by allowing users to respond to a reddit comment/post with a statement like "u/changetip 100 bits". Then, an annoying ChangeTip bot would respond to that message with something like "someJerk wants to send you a tip for 10 bits, Follow me to collect it".
The whole thing was annoying. Bitcoiners would go out into various subs and start 'tipping' people. These 'bitcoin evangelists' would try to use charity as a disguise for trying to "make bitcoin go viral". Equal parts sad and unsurprising.
ChangeTip lead to several advances to the bitcoin vernacular including:
Penny Shavings noun: Insignificant amount of money (often less than 0.01 USD) gifted to someone via ChangeTip.
Hey What Just Happened Here? phrase: Boiler plate comment used in online forums to initiate an artificial discussion about bitcoin with the goal of attracting interest from passing morons. Typically used in response to use of the ChangeTip service.

The underground business of selling Minecraft accounts and how I grew in it (Long Post)

What is value? How is it determined? What gives something value over the internet
Value, according to the English Dictionary:
Noun
  1. the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something. "your support is of great value"
  2. a person's principles or standards of behavior; one's judgment of what is important in life. "they internalize their parents' rules and values" "society's values are passed on to us as children"
What I am about to tell you could possibly be illegal, I know that the selling of accounts on certain platforms breaks EULA or terms of service.
The truth is, value is determined by people not by price. It is a made up concept that can date back to thousands of years ago. Believe it or not, supply and demand determines value. An example of this can be, I have a bracelet, that I view to be very valuable. The reinforcing fact that leads me to believe it has value is because it has diamonds on it, which are considered to be very scarce.
You're probably wondering how does money flow through the internet? Well despite the fact we live in a informational technological age. Concepts that have been around since early 2000's such as Paypal, Ebay, and Skrill have been helping money flow virtually. As of 2018, we now have concepts and apps such as Crypto, Venmo, Cashapp, Stripe, and Square. All of these concepts have helped boosted internet trading market demand through the roof. It's amazing how far the internet has gotten us. Enough of this, let's get into my story.
It all started when I grew a liking to selling things. I sold candy at my high school (2015) and racked in a good $60 a day while learning in classes. The connection came from my family's cornerstore, which they grew close to the whole sellers around the area. I was getting these bars 1/4th price of retail. Good money to me, since I was only 15. This only lasted for about a year until the school principal caught me and confiscated my work. I had to move my hustle somewhere else. I usually saved up money to buy shoes, Air Jordan's mainly, but that's for another story.
At the time, I played lots of Minecraft with friends. I was on a popular server called Hypixel, where you could invite players into your party. I built a reputation on that server for being a quite decent player. This means I was good at combat and mini-games. One particular day, I was in a party with a friend of mine who invited someone with the username "Super" and "1y" to the party. I saw these usernames and thought, "god damn". That's badass. I was completely struck in awe that a username could be so clean. How does someone get a username like this? Most likely they’ve gotten it when the game first came out. Hence the name “OG” (Original)
Why does a username like this have value? People like the cleanness and owning it represents a high social level or high status. It's attention grabbing. That's the truth.
After a few minutes of convo, he told me to go to the Main Minecraft Trading Site which I will not disclose. This was a third party site meaning it wasn't owned by Mojang. It was legit the wild west. Scams were so common. I setup my own paypal, and paid my pops cash to get money into my paypal account. I copped my first OG, "Pimp" for around $60 in early 2016. Expensive at the time. This was my first act towards an actual business in this game. About a month later, I found someone on the market who would be willing to trade the username "Cash" for "Pimp". We conducted the trade however a few weeks later, I lost possession to the account and found out I've been scammed. He pulled the account. This was my first encounter with a internet scammer.
How did he do this? Well when you change the email on an account, an email gets sent to your previous email just in case a "hacker" steals your Minecraft account and changes the email on your account. In that email is a "dispute link" which expires in 30 days but can be usable anytime. When this link is clicked, you pretty much get your account back. He did that, I felt like shit.
February 2016, My friend "Super" ended up giving me the account "Cobra" which was insane at the time. Worth about $150. Everyday, after school, I played for around 6-7 hours. I built a good name for myself on the marketplace by interacting with other people and playing with them on Hypixel. I created a guild named Royalty Gang, this was the first ever guild/team that consisted of OG Minecraft names. We later on changed our name to OG nation and our guild grew to around 100+ members. This way of networking became amazing but toxic. We had a skype group which pretty much consisted of it's own marketplace. I gave Cobra back to Super and he got the new name "Love". Ended up buying Harm off of him which was worth $200 at the time. I also ended up buying Hawkeye and Wart for $100 from the owner of Hulk who later exit scammed the marketplace for $300. June 2016, about a few months in, I still had lots of money saved up but I decided to take my game up. There was word that a real OG player who had auto-claimed over 1000 OG names when Minecraft first came out was trying to get rid of his accounts. He owned over 50% of the market supply. He went by the name of WaterSpice. I got Sharp, Honor, Heal, gz, Omega, Fable, Steak, and Sneak off of him for a bulk price of around $1200. This was a huge transaction for a 15 year old like myself. But I had the capital saved up from selling “Harm” for $350 ($150 profit), candy at school (around $50 a day), and Hawkeye and Wart ($200). I placed all of these accounts, except Sharp, on the marketplace immediately and started to get offers. I made a profit of around $450-500. I continued to play daily and build a name for myself. November 2016, I later sold Sharp for $450 profit to a marketplace user when the value of MC accounts risen.
My $1,900 MC account: Before I get into this, I got to explain the value of minecraft capes. Capes are usually only obtained by going to a special Minecon event or given out by Minecraft Developers themselves. That being, out of all the 20 million minecraft accounts, this was one of the 20 accounts. The Cobalt cape. This cape was only given to the winners of a tournament of another game that Mojang created called Cobalt. The guy who won the tournament didn’t even play Minecraft much. I got in contact with him around December 2018 and bought his account for $200. Which was a complete steal. I later sold the account for $550 in Jan 2017. By this time, I quit playing. I didn’t come back until mid August 2018 when I found out the Cobalt cape account I sold apparently got locked and value of MC accounts were 3 times from what they were before. I came back, got the Cobalt cape account back for free since I knew info on it that others did not. 3 days after I got the account I sold it for $1,500 in Bitcoin.
Why did I include so many particular events in my story? Because these key events shaped me into who I am now and how I do my business. I feel as if it's important that really take into account these events and try to get the best meaning out of them.
All in all, I probably made a 2-3 thousand dollars from just being in this game. So many young people, like myself, nowadays are doing not only internet making money techniques but learning networking techniques using the internet like CS:GO skin trading, Fortnite Account selling (Which I will share about my experience on this later) , Clash of Clans account, and the most notorious Social Media OG's. This is only the story of myself, there are so many others who I bet have had a larger run than me. Young people are teaching themselves newer ways to make money and i'm all for it. Let's keep this money flowing! However, hope ya enjoyed! Ask any questions, I will be glad to answer.

Is it possible to objectively discuss things without getting dragged to the "Dragons Den"?

The computer science debates about the best ways to scale Bitcoin are far too important for us to take “sides”.
“Beating” the other guy doesn’t serve any of us, and it doesn’t serve Bitcoin.
In these discussions we need to be as sure as possible that we are not just winning an argument, or making talking points but that we are factually correct.
One thing everyone should agree on is the need for truthful and factual statements when discussing these important issues.
Unfortunately, the Bitcoin community learned some very bad habits from the world of politics.
[Disclaimer: I do not work for Blockstream and I never have, just as I did not work for Roger Ver the other day when I defended him against a similar baseless attack about Mt.. Gox https://np.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/6846wo/message_to_rogedgvnrqk/ ]
For example, it is difficult to have any discussion in Bitcoin without someone bringing up the “Dragon’s Den”.
"Dragon’s Den" is brought up as an argument point often by everyone from major minors, to CEOs and analysts.
But what do we really know about “Dragon’s Den”?
What is the full body of evidence regarding the claims about Dragons Den?
Well, it’s pretty simple:
1) One lone LN developer claimed that there was a secret channel used for trolling
2) Someone posted a screenshot showing the existence of the slack channel and some people chatting in it
What is absent from this evidence:
So really, we have CEOs, miners and thousands of people who care passionately about Bitcoin using “Dragon’s Den” as a talking point when really – – – the entire thesis about dragons den comes down to “a guy said”.
One doesn’t even have to be critical of the developer who claimed its existence to have doubts about the story.
If you look carefully, Joseph Poon never even claimed to have first-hand knowledge about dragons den being used for trolling – he didn’t even mention that he ever visited the channel.
One guy saying something doesn’t make it true.
One doesn't even have to think that Joseph is a bad actor (and I don't) maybe he was misinformed, didn't think clearly before making his statement, had a misunderstanding or exaggerated.
There was a Reddit post asking him to clarify but it doesn't seem he did.
So what is Dragon’s Den really?
Honestly my best educated guess is that the slack channel simply existed as a place for like-minded individuals to discuss topics and opinions they share an interest in.
After it was revealed to the public, the channel was opened to a number of interested/concerned community members to review including me. This was the first time I knew about or entered the channel. What I saw was pretty similar to the regular Slack. Bias against BU? Of course? Bias in favor of the core roadmap? Sure? An organized trolling campaign? Doubtful.
My guess is that the channel was similar before it became public.
Now it is possible that, as part of an elaborate ruse, participants in the channel have gone and created a new double secret channel where the real trolling is being organized and are still participating in the existing “Dragon’s Den” channel as some sort of theater to throw people off their trail and fool someone like me into posting this.
Maybe, maybe, maybe
But I doubt it. Occams Razor is a good explanation – the most likely explanation is that it simply people who are like-minded gathering together
Just as the most likely explanation for a lot of behavior in Bitcoin is the simple one.
I don't think Gavin is in the CIA or Roger is secretly trying to harm Bitcoin or Blockstream is involved in some conspiracy to destroy Bitcoin with AXA and I don't think Bitmain purposely intended to shut down miners (but the risk was still real) and I don't think Greg Maxwell works for the CIA either.
People have human faults, they mess up, they are self interested etc. Occasionally they will be behind some elaborate ruse, but usually behavior comes down to just people being people.
What about the trolling?
Again absence any evidence I think the simplest explanation is that like-minded people hanging around in the channel are likely to react in similar manners to various news and tweets.
It’s most likely like “Hey did you see this ridiculous argument John Doe just tweeted?" and then a number of like-minded people make comments on that post. Could this be considered organized trolling? Maybe. Same way posting a tweet on one or the other Reddit sub will cause a dozen people to comment...this seems like organized trolling.
Having been attacked, criticized and trolled by many of the same people who are very active in that channel I know how it feels: even half a dozen people can easily make you feel overwhelmed by attackers. Between misconceptions, logical fallacies, name-calling, retweets, reposts and comments for multiple people you can feel like Boromir in the first Lord of the Rings movie with arrow after arrow shot at you.
But really – this is just part of the way the Internet works.
I once even found myself banned from the entire Slack in question. I annoyed people with my continual calls for compromise as well as occasionally defending people from exactly the type of unfair or inaccurate attack I’m talking about here.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed, I put my differences aside with the people at in the channel and since then have had a lot of productive and mutually respectful discussions about this important technology.
But core runs this!
This is the thing, they really don’t. I tried to get this point across in a recent blog post.
Down With Bitcoin Core (as a noun used to describe people)
https://medium.com/@brucefenton/down-with-bitcoin-core-as-a-noun-used-to-describe-people-9d76d4b3cbef
I know it’s frustrating, and I used to feel the same way as many BU supporters in thinking that “core” was one monolithic, like-minded entity. ** It’s really not. It's just not factual to look at it this way**
*Only after a lot of time spending a lot of time meeting with and discussing issues with numerous core and non-core developers did I come to this opinion. *
I now think that it is only fair for us to judge individual people on the individual actions that they take. Not actions taken by a group.
Worse yet: Some core developers even use this word “core” as a noun to describe people when it suits them. This is equally wrong. Individual people and only individual people should be held accountable for the actions that they actually taken the words that they actually say.
If we do that, it’s harder to argue.
Groups are easy to hate. It’s very easy to discuss to prescribe opinions or characteristics on “Republicans” or “liberals” or "core" or "btc". If you are running for office, it’s a great idea to use these types of terms: they seek to divide and drive wedges.
The world of politics is not that simple: on major issues ranging from the drug war to war, foreign policy and taxes there are vast differences between people who carry the various political labels.
An open source project, particularly one as diverse as Bitcoin, has much more nuance than this even.
There is definitely no universal “core” opinion.
“Core developers” include a wide variety of people: Gavin Andresen, Satoshi Nakamoto, Greg Maxwell, Matt Corallo, Alex Marcos, Peter Todd, Vladimir and many others.
It just isn’t accurate or fair to put all people in the same category.
What happens if we do start holding individual people accountable for their actions?
Well, for one thing, it makes it a lot harder to argue against broad ideas such as “core believes X” or “core failed to X”.
If someone claims that the “Dragon’s Den” is some sort of effort by “core”, then the first question should be “Who specifically do you mean by “core””? As far as I can tell the only contributor to the core software project was active in that particular channel is the moderator.
In fact, it does not seem likely that even more than a couple other actual core developers ever even visited the channel – – let alone used it or engaged in any sort of organized trolling behavior from it. How many core devs total on the high end even visited? Five?
So instead of saying "Dragons Den is a core project to organize trolling" why don't we say "these five people organize trolling"? Well, because it's too damn hard. It's EASY to blame some nameless faceless group, but when you name specific people you usually have to back it up better, so those five people accused would (rightfully) respond "Huh? What evidence do you have of this?"
Bram Cohen was caught in this exact situation. Just by being in this now infamous chat channel it was assumed he was a participant in trolling. Why? Because a guy said that the channel exists for trolling
If someone has visions of Vladimir or Greg Maxwell sitting around this particular Slack channel planning troll campaigns – – the facts and evidence simply don’t show this to be reflective of reality.
So what should we do next?
This argument isn’t going to be solved by one post.
But what we can all do is work together to discuss things in his fair and accurate of a way as possible.
This means holding actual people responsible for actual actions they do. If you don't like the core roadmap, debate it with Nullc, if you don't agree with the people who signed it, take it up with them. If you don't think the peer review process is fair and objective, contribute technically to the discussion. If you don't like the "Dragons Den" then take it up with specific people. What this really ends up looking like is that instead of being able to say "Dragons Den is a massive troll army run by core" it ends up more like "BTCDrak and MrHodl and Alp are in a channel and I don't like what they tweeted". That second statement doesn't have the bite of the first....but it's true.
Working for better standards also means we should really avoid claims about either "side" unless they are backed by evidence and relevant to the discussion.
In fact, we shouldn’t even be having “sides” at all.
We are here to change the world. No one likes the bickering. Many don't participate...but almost all of us support it at some point. Whether it's up-voting a divisive post, sharing a meme attacking the other guys or using terms designed to place people in camps, we contribute even when we don't mean to.
What would happen if we all decided to no longer participate in division? What if we down voted every comment that attacks individuals or which is divisive and we upvoted everything positive?
What if we kept scientific debate more scientific?
Every piece of data and information in this discussion should be analyzed independently. Independent of the source ended up dependent of what our own motivations or narrative might be.
Anytime we engage in using terms designed to “beat” the other side red division, we don’t win paragraph we win and Bitcoin wins by us all working together to be as accurate and fair as possible.

Let's talk (about) esperanto

Hi guys,
or should I say : Saluton!
As you may know, "monero" is an esperanto word. But what the hell is esperanto ? Well, it's as close as you get to a decentralised language.
Let's see how it works, starting with an example (then we'll go to some historical perspective).
The word"Monero" doesn't jump right out of a dictionary, it's actualy composed of three elements freely put together, one sillabus each : mon + er + o. Each has a meaning.
mon- : money
-er- : the smallest part
-o : a thing (gramatically speaking : a noun)
Which means 'monero' can be analysed as meaning : "a noun that describes the smallest part of money". Well, a coin. That's a coin.
Change the first element with 'sabl-' (that means "sand") and you get 'sablero', which means "a grain of sand". 'Neĝero' is "a snowflake" and so on.
Change the midle element from -er- to -ar- (a group), and you have a 'monaro', a bunch of money. Change it to -uj- (recipient), you have a "monujo", a wallet. And so on.
As you can see, although the elements looks somewhat english or spanish, the esperanto structure is much more logic and easy to learn, it allows you to make up words where you can't remember them. The rest of the grammar is just that simple, conjugating is sometimes easier than in your mothertongue.
But : why the hell should we be talking (about) esperanto in the first place, and how is it related to Monero ? Well, like I said, esperanto is much like a decentralized language. Let's take a step back and rewind some 150 years.
End of the 19th century, Europe. The time of revolutions has done its job, now it's all about nationalisms. Industry is booming. Colonialism is the rule. The great nations feast on Africa and India. The US hasn't rised yet, China almost doesn't exist. The WW1 didn't occur yet. It's all about Europe, and europeans values. European intellectuals have long had the idea of creating a universal language that all could speak. It's been the role of latin for a long time, now it's french, even Tolstoi writes in french, later it will be english, but still, a universal language would be great. A german priest called Martin Schleier imagines a language called Volapuk, with grammar, vocabulary, spelling and all that shit, intellectuals learn it, start writing magazines and stuff.
But hey.
Dude.
That language, there, Volapuk, is a pain in the ass. The grammar is complicated. The pronounciation is a hell. The spelling's weird. Vocabulary is hard to memorize. Let's reform the language !
The founder says : "Back off, that's my language, only I get to change it."
Okay.
Meanwhile, some jewish doctor (his name is Zamenhof) in the east of polland gets tired of so much hatred between nations, invents a language that is much easier. The Vocabulary is easy to recognize. The grammar is a child game. The spelling is clear. The pronounciation is OK, even if you have an accent we understand everybody.
This guy publishes a white paper. Some hundred of people learn it, much quicker than for Volapuk.
There are debates whether to bring minor changes to the language or not, everyone votes, the founder himself doesn't voice his opinion.
In a matter of years, Volapuk has died, esperanto took his place and scales.
Two world wars and seventy years later, an estimated million to two millions people speak esperanto, or can at least manage some everyday chat with it. I'm a part of them.
What was the plan of esperanto ? To allow people of different mothertongue to speak with each other on a neutral level. And to disrupt the nationalist ideologies. Did it work. For the first part yes, for the first part no.
How is esperanto a "decentralized language", how is it similar to a decentralised currency ?
I'm French. I learned esperanto at 20, out of ideals, I stayed in because of the community. I came of age in the esperanto world, meeting other young people, singing, drinking beer, celebrating new years eve in Germany or Poland, spending the summer in Czech republic, getting invited to Croatia, sharing jokes with Italians, Japanese, flirting with german chicks, becoming pal with Catalans, attending heavy metal concerts played by Brazilians, hanging out with Americans, drinking vodka with the polish guys, you name it.
(You can learn esperanto on duolingo, or on http://lernu.net Learn more on the language here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto )
Ten years later (I'm 30), I realise bitcoin has surged, I start investing in crypto, I see this "Monero" coin, and realize I'm not alone.
Something bugs me : if you compare esperanto and cryptocurrencies, the ideology and principles are roughly the same. Go beyond the borders and national sentiment. So why is it that cryptos are taking off so rapidly, when esperanto hasn't ?
Don't give me the same usual crap like "a universal language can't happen", this is like saying "a global independent currency can't happen".
There must be a thing. I'm afraid it's greed. It's easier to install a wallet and get an account on Kraken, that to spend two months learning a language, be it as easy as esperanto (believe me, esperanto is that easy). What do you think ?
Cheers guys, thanks for reading,
or should I say, Dankon por la legado!

Why Bitcoin’s ‘Culture War’ Matters

Why Bitcoin’s ‘Culture War’ Matters
https://preview.redd.it/e7xy9m8zj3231.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=33d75751a8699b76c77cb6a8d702e230b6906343
Let’s talk about bitcoin, toxicity and inclusiveness.
(Boy, my Twitter feed is going to have fun over the next few days.)
To start with, let me take a position: I stand with those people, especially women, who’ve lately been calling out maltreatment from members of the bitcoin community and citing rude and abusive behavior as proof of that community’s lack of inclusiveness. These are people who believe in cryptocurrency technology’s potential but feel discouraged to believe that they belong to the community’s dominant white-male subculture. If this technology is to fulfill its global potential, the community associated with it must confront this problem.
But the real point of this column is not to just defend these critics. It’s to debunk one of the more common positions adopted by those who take issue with their complaints, particularly on Twitter. In doing so, I hope to emphasize just how important the concepts of “community” and “culture” are to the healthy development of crypto technology and the ecosystem growing around it.

Hammer culture?

The line that’s most often thrown back at those calling out incivility is that bitcoin is nothing more than a technology, a tool, and that it’s meaningless to attach to it value judgments relating to human behavior. Bitcoin is amoral, apolitical and a-cultural, the argument goes, and like any technology it is used by good and bad people alike.
These pundits, warning of a political correctness-based threat to free speech, will then advise the injured party to take issue directly with the bad actors but refrain from agitating for community-wide change.
A perfect example of the genre came from outspoken lawyer Preston Byrne.

Clever, yes. But it’s extremely unhelpful, because the examples given do not share equivalent terms of reference.
Byrne’s “hammer” refers solely to the steel implement that tradesmen use. By contrast, people complaining about “bitcoin” are clearly using the word in a much wider context than in merely a reference to the code, to the ones and zeros that comprise the bitcoin protocol. They are inherently talking about the wider ecosystem and community gathered around the idea of bitcoin.
So, let’s equalize the terms, shall we? We can turn each of these nouns into a modifier of the word “community.”
While it might sound silly to talk about a “hammer community,” there may well be groups of hammer-obsessed souls who debate questions of design and ease of use at meetups and in chat rooms. If so, I’m going to guess that that community would probably also be predominantly male.
But the real issue is that such a hammer community is going to be far less important to the future design and evolution of hammer technology than bitcoin’s community is to its. I’m no expert, but I don’t see a great deal of change in hammer technology having occurred over the centuries and I’m not sure people expect much in the future. As such, we don’t see much jockeying among users to ensure that proposals for hammer upgrades are implemented and standardized to their preferred design.
By contrast, the open-source technology behind bitcoin is in a constant state of evolution. It is, by definition, under development, which is why we talk about the engineers who work on it as “developers,” not “custodians.” As such, there is a constant battle of interests over who gets to modify the code. Exhibit A: the block-size debate.
Counter-arguing that those who don’t like the process can just fork the code, as the large-blockers did, and set up their own new community, doesn’t cut it for me. Bitcoin is the brand that matters. Any newcomer will struggle to achieve the same network effects. Secession just isn’t viable for anyone who likes its current design but doesn’t like how its future is being defined.
Also, is there a “hammer ecosystem?” Maybe. But beyond producers of nails, and perhaps steel and rubber or wood suppliers, you can hardly call it a complex ecosystem.
Bitcoin, by contrast, which purports to reinvent the global system of money, has attracted an inherently vast array of different technology providers, all of whom have competing interests in how it is designed, managed and marketed to the world. I’m not just talking about businesses applications built on top of it, but also the developers of related encryption, payment channel, smart contract and other vitally important technologies, all of which are themselves in a constant state of flux.
(I’m guessing that the exhibition halls at hammer conventions don’t have quite the same spread of offerings as cryptocurrency events such as Consensus.)
Saying that bitcoin is nothing but a tool, is like saying that music is nothing but a system for ordering different audible tones.

Money = community

When Paul Vigna and I wrote The Age of Cryptocurrency, we spent a lot of time chronicling the emergence of the community that had formed around bitcoin, which we saw as fundamental to its success. It struck us that the notion of a bitcoin community was so prominent — the “c” word was always being bandied about — because bitcoin embodied a profound and sweeping social idea. It offered nothing less than a reinvention of money, a revolution in the entire system for coordinating human value exchange.
Money only works to the extent that there is widespread belief in it, that people buy into its core myth. Money, Felix Martin says, is a social technology, by which he means that its functionality and usability depend far less on the physical qualities of the token that represents it than on the collective agreementamong large communities of people that their token captures, represents and communicates transferable value. This is true whether we’re talking about gold, dollar bills, entries in a bank account, or cryptocurrency.
By extension, then, for any form of money to succeed, it must sustain a vibrant, growing community.

Communities = culture

The thing about communities is that they inevitably develop cultures. In self-defining their boundaries of belonging, they develop shared ways of seeing and language — akin to a kind of social protocol – that regulate (in a very unofficial, and quite subconscious way) their members’ behavior.
As they evolve, cultures can become more or less open, more or less inclusive, more or less abrasive in their treatment of outsiders. And inevitably, these cultural features will either encourage or impede the growth of the community.
All this should hardly be a revelation. Anthropology, the study of culture, is a globally widespread and influential field (one that is now appropriately turning its attention to cryptocurrency communities.)
Studies of U.S. culture, from Alexis de Tocqueville down, have rightly pointed to the inclusiveness of the founding fathers’ ideas as a key driver of its economic expansion. In fact, American culture is arguably its most important ingredient for success, a social manifestation of Joseph Nye’s notion of the United States’ “soft power.”
So, yes, bitcoin culture really, really matters. If the compelling ideas behind permissionless, peer-to-peer exchange and censorship-resistant money that attract people of all stripes to it are to retain those people’s interest and grow in influence, the bitcoin community needs to evolve a more inclusive culture.
The only way to do that is to spur the kind of open debates that have always driven the progress of human culture — those which shifted norms and mores to the point that it became unacceptable to own slaves, to spit in public, or to jump a queue.
So, listen up, bitcoin. It’s time to confront your toxicity.

The Re-solution of the Block Size Debate

Author’s note: I typically don’t seem to approach problems the way most of us are expected to. In some ways I think this could be useful for various reasons, but unfortunately there are “side effects” as well. Once such side effect is my inability to use language in the standard way. The reader will have to forgive me for this, however, I believe that for this writing, the meaning and purpose will still translate to SOME players. If a few players can understand the content well enough, perhaps those who themselves HAVE a talent in language, might be able to translate the content in their own respective ways.
Introduction
…it cannot be irrelevant whether or not the future quality of a currency is really assured or whether instead that it depends on the shifting sands of political decisions or the possibly arbitrary actions of a bureaucracy of official.~John Nash-Ideal Money
Ever since Satoshi put the 1mb cap on the block-size, the community has been dividing itself further and further, between those that want a dramatic increase in the limit and those that do not. This creates an uncertainly in the future quality of the currency, and I think both sides would admit that this necessarily affects adoption and the price of the bitcoin. The most popular sentiment SEEMS to be that “big-blockers” want to scale bitcoin to have a transaction capacity that would allow it to evolve to be a global currency. However, big-blockers also have the biggest hill to climb, because they must convince Core to bend to their mandate (and then convince the network to adopt such a proposal). Core seems to have no intention in even addressing this issue. Bitcoin is in a state of flux. The purpose of this writing is to put and end this flux.
Re-solution and Rheomodes
If we can see what all of our opinions mean, then we are sharing a common content, even if don’t agree entirely.~David Bohm-On Dialogue
In order to do this I must be allowed to extend our language slightly. Rheomodes are a new mode of words (like verb, noun, pronoun, adjective etc.) created by Dr. David Bohm as an experiment to see if we can derive any value from taking emphasis off the noun and putting it onto the verb (in this instance rheo refers “to flow” or movement like an action word). In regard to bitcoin we might think of the distinction as the difference between “I’ll send you some BITCOIN” or “BITCOIN it to me”. The former treats bitcoin like a noun, and the latter like an action (a payment method).
It might not be immediately obvious what the importance of introducing a rheomodes. And it is indeed a difficult subject to introduce. A rheomode refers to a type of perspective that could either be called “objective” or an “aggregate of all subject perspectives”. An easier way to say this is that a rheomode means ‘to call the groups attention to X’, where X depends on the definition of the rheomode.
For the purpose of this essay the rheomode I wish to levate (call attention to) is “re-solution”. ‘Re’ (followed by a hyphen) in this instance, along with denoting the rheomode also implies “again”. ‘Solution’ in this instance, will not refer to the solution to a problem per se, but rather the mixture of two otherwise divided parts into a whole. The “again” or “re” implies that these separate parts were already a whole, and they were somewhat unnecessarily or unjustly divided (this creates an implication that there is a need or want for the parts to return to the whole, hence the connection to the root word ‘resolution’).
This is the basic aspect of the concept of rheomode I wish to bring to our attention, and the rheomode itself, re-solution, means, essentially, “to bring to the community’s attention the spontaneous combining of two otherwise separate parts, in such a way that a new wholistic perspective arises for the group”.
Now I will give an example of how we might use this rheomode in practice so that we might better understand its purpose and function.
The Re-solution of Gresham’s Law and Tier’s Law
After previously trying to re-solve the block-size debate with Gresham’s law, and the explanation that people will not circulate bitcoin, but rather they will hoard it versus a fiat counterpart, it has been brought to my attention that Gresham’s law isn’t necessarily applicable to bitcoin since there is no legal-tender law in relation to it.
Furthermore, astute players (and usually proponents of big-blocks) point out that the bitcoin phenomenon should work in REVERSE to Gresham’s law-people will circulate bitcoin and drop fiat altogether. This is called Tier’s law and it is said to come into play in the absence of any legal tender laws.
And here is where our example for our rheomode comes in (wiki):
The Nobel prize-winner Robert Mundell believes that Gresham’s Law could be more accurately rendered, taking care of the reverse, if it were expressed as, “Bad money drives out good if they exchange for the same price.”[18]
Now we can use our rheomode in a sentence: Robert Mundell “re-solved” Gerham’s law with Thier’s law which such a statement. That is to say, by taking a higher level perspective, Mundell was able to present a more general perspective that encapsulated both of the laws, and because of the succinct and direct use of language he was able to call this generalized perspective to the attention of the academic community and citizenry of this world. (note: In the language I have been working on, I would call this observation transmutation, which basically refers to “that which changes, and that which doesn’t change. Here the common meaning of transmutation seems appropriate as well.)
In going with Mundell’s insight we can begin to re-solve the future of bitcoin, without breaking Gresham’s or Tier’s law as follows. If bitcoin, left as is, became the new gold standard, people began to hoard it, and the velocity of fiat started to increase, we might view this phenomenon as a similar RESULT to Gresham’s law (even though the initial circumstances are not necessarily the same). If we raised bitcoin’s transaction capacity to facilitate a low fee coffee money, and bitcoin grew to be a world currency fast enough that fiat was effectively dropped altogether, we might view this phenomenon, instead, to be comparable to Tier’s law.
Ideal Money: A COMMON Goal
Each side of the debate seems to share a common interest in that they want to use bitcoin in the most optimal fashion possible. And each side shares a common interest in wanting to bring our global financial system into order. I want to paint two distinct pictures, big-blockers that wish to optimize bitcoin as a currency, and small-blockers, that might be thinking of bitcoin as a new age digital gold, which inspires optimized currency systems to run in and around bitcoin and the block-chain.
Each of us has our own view on what ideal money might be, however we need to take note that a very brilliant man has spent many years meditating and speaking on the subject of Ideal Money. His definition for what would ultimately be Ideal Money comes down to basically, ‘money that doesn’t degrade in value/purchasing power over time’. Now this is a slippery definition, it is not in itself a solution (this is why it is called IDEAL). But it does provide us a basis or a ceiling that we might strive for.
I have always understood this to support the small-blocker agenda, in that as bitcoin becomes a safe haven for inflation, government will be forced to print money of a better and better quality. The eventually “asymptotic” result being the ceiling or “Ideal”.
I think though we can begin to re-solve both sides of the debate by using another perspective or definition in regard to a common goal or an Ideal Money. Here is another quote from Dr. Nash:
…to improve the conditions under which agreements regarding long-term lending and borrowing would be made, a money would be more or less equivalently good if it had a completely steady and constant rate of inflation. Then this inflation rate could be added to all lending an borrowing contracts.~Ideal Money
Now I think then I can see the possibility (like Thier’s law states) that the people could adopt bitcoin perhaps in a relatively short period of time, and drop fiat currency so fast that governments have no realistic time to adjust. Then bitcoin could become a global currency with a very moderate inflation rate for some period of time. This too I think could bring our global financial system into order, as bitcoin could either be continually optimize, or perhaps new currencies in the future could arise to take its place (but not fiat). This path though, does require a higher transaction capacity (ie bigger-blocks).
The Re-solution of the Block Size Debate
Now I believe we have brought about a great insight. I think it can now basically be shown that Ideal Money could be brought about using EITHER path for bitcoin. And this possibility changes the nature of the problem. If we can be allowed to suggest that both sides do in fact have legitimate claims to bringing about order to our financial system, then it is no wonder that sincere players are so passionate and adamant that their agenda pull through!
In fact such a realization can be used to create 4 useful player archetypes I wish use to remember to use: the rational small-blocker, the irrational small-blocker; the rational big-blocker, and the irrational big-blocker. Notice that even if someone calls another player an “irrational X-blocker” there is still an implication from that person that the X side does in fact have rational players. This alone, it seems, could change the nature of the debate.
I think some people will read this writing and be unsatisfied with the claim that I may have re-solved the block-size debate. I wish us to keep in mind the purpose and definition of our rheomode (re-solution), and especially that it means “to bring to the community’s attention the spontaneous combining of two otherwise separate parts, in such a way that a new wholistic perspective arises for the group”. This is what I have done, but what I have not done is the traditional use of the word “resolution”, I have not chosen or proved one side of the debate is correct. Instead, by showing both sides can lead to our shared goal, I believe I have served the stated purpose of this paper, which is to help bring bitcoin out of flux.
Rational players on both sides now have a common goal and reason to come together. And it can be side that if each player cannot admit that there are rational players on both sides of the debate, then that player must be seen as insincere. Now much of the focus can be on finding the optimal PATH to take bitcoin on, rather than focusing on winning the debate, in the name of what each player KNOWS is “correct”. That is to say this paper, if successful, should alleviate pressure on Core, which in turn should bode well for the present day and long term health and circumstances of our beloved currency.
In closing, I would like to say, I have now changed my stance on the block-size debate as a previously devote small-blocker. I am no long afraid of big blocks. I am no longer afraid of X-size blocks, and I hope now the reader no longer is either.

The only arguments against tying POT to Pot, summarily answered

This was a reply to an old post I made last night. I want everyone to see it. I'm obviously replying to the quoted parts.

tl;dr at bottom.
Look at the chart.
I had to comment on this post because it seems like no one in the 'crypto' world actually recognizes the amount of money (FIAT) that goes into creating a business of a grow/co-op.
While I can appreciate your need to speak for "everyone" you do not speak for me. I have and currently do represent a number of Arizona dispensaries in the much needed, reputation management area. I know PRECISELY what goes into a dispensary and grow operation as far as initial capital, fees, build-out, final inspections, advertising, investing in the grow or coop. And then monthly maintenance, building costs, labor, etc, etc. It's a business, we get it. Further, one of my better clients... I know how much he makes per year after costs. And as a non-profit, it has to be given away. If you can give it away and create an economy at the same time...?
And we didn't tell you to
  1. convert solely to cryptocurrency
  2. hold a high stake at any given time in any particular crypto.
Everyone is in a disillusioned world of crypto that doesn't even exist yet.
Once again... speaking for everyone, thanks. YOU are the one that exists in a world where crypto doesn't exist. We are in a different world. Most of us had smartphones while everyone was sporting RAZRs. We had a web presence before many fortune 500 companies. We... are your future. You want national adoption... adopt us first.
WE, are trying to tell you, accept the future, or become the next Blockbuster.
I am going to list some of my expenses that I can't pay for with POTcoin:
Yay
  • Electricity
Solar. There are, good, electronics stores that take BTC for solar. Cause ya'know, hippies. Don't say it can't be done. It's past-tense.
  • Internet * Phone
I really don't have time to list why this is not worth listing.
  • Rent
Everyone in the United States pays rent or mortgage.
  • Insurance
Right, here is an industry that needs crypto too.
  • Payroll
Have you asked? Have you said, hey... wanna get paid in this untraceable currency? You know, the one you don't have to report getting?
  • Taxes
See, previous. Maybe you haven't heard? FedSEC says, Crypto no bueno currency, Crypto = Property. Dispensaries here are non-profit. Donate your property (Pot), we donate our property (POT) and no income is triggered, because POT is based on Pot. Parity trade. NO taxes!
  • Advertising (ads, business cards, flyers)
Dude... if you ACCEPT crypto... you won't spend another dollar on advertising for at least a year. I promise. Everyone HERE promises. Not another dime on advertising. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
  • Office Supplies (pens and paper to computers and printers/ink to office chairs and furniture)
I'll just pretend you didn't list this. If you're hurting so bad for these items, you either need to have a talk with that staff of yours, change habits, or change systems. If it is a matter of state requirements. Don't list it.
  • Maintenance & Cleaning (from paying people to clean to the supplies they use)
So, you can't find some undocumenteds that want bueno crypto? Really? Tell them, UNTRACEABLE... CAN SEND ACROSS ANY BORDER AT 1% OR LESS!
  • Fertilizers and growing supplies
See solar. Hippies. Many accept BTC.
  • Legal Fees
Find a lawyer that takes crypto, they exist.
How do you expect me to forget the fiat game?
Don't want you to. We want you to accept it on par with fiat. That's the idea. YOU are creating the economy.
Even if I only accepted POTcoin,
Surely don't want you to do that. Plus if you are a legit place you have AARP customers that probably aren't privy to crypto. They will cover the rent.
I'd have to exchange to FIAT to pay my bills because AT&T is never going to take PotCoin as payment...
That's actually a direction I am moving toward... servicing customers like you that have crypto and want to interact with the non-crypto world. You add me to your utilities and bills, and I am like the online bill pay for altcoin.
But see, it has to start somewhere!
In 1993 I was begging people to buy domain names. "What the hell do I need that for?" Indeed. I cashed out most of my single noun and single verb domains in the late 90's before the dot com collapse and didn't work for a few years after that from the sales. Coasted right thru the crash.
and the only way to not get screwed by any crazy jumps in the market are to do it instantly at the point of transaction for every purchase... even waiting a day could lose me 20% on days like today.
Once again, that's where my company will fill a need. I'm actually very well trained in high speed trading and forex coding in MT4. This, is rather simple, comparatively.
I will guarantee no-slip membership levels. That means, LOCKED IN TRADES. We take the hit if we make a bad trade, in getting your fiat back.
Please I would love to hear any real options and this isn't an attack on the posters or people in this community, just a very real down to earth and inquisitive request.
Please... take a chance...
THEN... be negative if it doesn't work. Or be a hero, WHEN it does.
The price of your coin went from 1POT = $0.01USD to 1POT = $0.0055USD <~ pretty much a 50% drop in price in the past 3 days. HOW ARE YOU NOT ALL UPSET BY THIS! Even as the price per BTC of POTcoin goes up, you are losing value because you are tied to BTC.

tl;dr
We want to untie from BTC and tie to Weed. I ideally, would like to see a range of:
0.125 - 0.420 for 1/8th of Medical Grade bottom shelf California state average
California chosen due to per capita and population.
In fact, here's a nice plot.
http://i.imgur.com/aKxK7yo.jpg
Does that grab your attention? Do you understand how to pay your bills now?
You have to realize, with FedSECs ruling... this is a LEGIT thing. You can literally create value out of nothing. NO ONE HERE WILL COMPLAIN IF YOU FIX THE PRICE OF POT TO POT. Promise. Cross my Heart.
And the biggest thing is... if you can buy an 1/8th of weed for 0.420POT...
it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for the coin to collapse... ever.
Think about it. But it needs to be mutual agreement, almost cartel like, no undercutting, etc. It's for the benefit of everyone. I even promise not to shop at a place that is undercutting if you fix POT to Pot.
If you fix that price of POT to anything more than a decimal point over in value vs USD... you make A LOT of POTcoin holders wealthy. And the first place they will come to spend their money is on real pot. And depending on how wealthy... maybe AT YOUR PLACE. Because I need a vaca.

You know i thought this could change the world something as simple as a music, maybe it can im not sure, all I know is that there is a spark lit inside me , its my soul and it loves everyone we are all one !!! I look back to to 60`s and remember the free love movement I see people loving without prejudice I see a oneness that doesnt exist today...
Call it magic call it devine intervention call it what you will when you open your eyes for the first time and see the beauty in the world nothing can change you, I thought this was life it isnt, were stuck in a dream thinking hat we have to pay rent follow the legislation pretend to be a "person" .... A person is a legal term the term used to enslave you likewise "citizen" just a system set up to take all it can from you ... We are worth more than that and we know it... https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/person What is a human being by statue ??? staatues are legislation , Did legislation make you a Human Being ??? We come from the light look at the video I posted the other day ... If you`re wondering when you became a Legal Fiction look at this https://thelawdictionary.org/cestui-que-trust/ introduced when the fires of London were burning !!! That wasnt enough for them they then put in a "legal system" or as it should be known a control system !!! Dont know how that system works ??? thats because they use legalese (english with different meanings) https://www.merriam- webster.com/dictionary/legalese
So how do you have a chance as a "person" you dont !!! when will realise the only law on this planet is that which god gave you !!! Is god not the highest authority ??? are you not made in his image ??? so whos the highest authority ??? and isnt GOD LOVE ???
Does it make sense that the people divided dont stand a chance does it make sense that some divine nature would want to free you from such tyrany ??? is it really as simple as loving each other , dancing , and taking back you life ???
no longer will I participate in this lie , Ive told enough lies to last me a lifetime I`ve done things im not proud of and i know that in the end its alll forgiven !!! Some of us go through life feeling that there must be something elese a purpose to it all that feeling is there for a reason its there to wake you from it all... My spark has been lit and it was the music that lit it !!!
Does it suprise you all that much that god is love not a religion not a faith nothing but love and we were put here to dance and sing and bask in that love ... We have our own ideas as to what God is some dont Beleive in god !!! But show me the person who doesnt beleive in love and ill show them love !!!
We talk about others theres every possible ism you can think of but what you dont see is that they are you you are them no matter the race, sexual orientaion, political alliance, we simply have good and bad life is about duality we need both Dont foregt to remember we all bleed red !!! they are us we are them !!! sometmes we lose track of what and who we are. I dont know if im right i dont know if im wrong but i know im willing to take a chance for the love i have inside me need to be shared !!!
I dont need anything everything i have has already been provided for me , will it be easy no i shouldnt imagine it will, nothing get be any harder than it has already , but i know they are always with me and im always with them in our hearts nothing will ever keep us from each other but my love my mother my brothers and sisters and the children are all part of me of us and nothing will ever change that ...
I am but one man but that is what i am a man a beautiful soverign human being and i need to start being , sitting on the soaf watching tv isnt going to change the world accepting to live in slavery is just the most stupid thing i could imaqine and while i dont know where im going or where ill end up i know that my family is out there and they want to listen !!! I have to take my message and love to them too ...
Ego : We think that we need money a flash car a nice house, ask yourself whats it worth in the end are you taking them with you ??? when our time comes i want to know i made a difference to the world and its not going to happen by buying yet more shit !!! We make difference by being !!!
The banking system you stand under is corrupt !!! the money is worthless its the religion that all sing to !!! and now thats moving into crypto currency (ONE WORLD CURRENCY) ... We speak of the NEW WORLD ORDER we all know thats somethings no right but we sit and do nothing ... Wont even take a chance on love !!!
What is 'Fiat Money' Fiat money is currency that a government has declared to be legal tender, but it is not backed by a physical commodity. The value of fiat money is derived from the relationship between supply and demand rather than the value of the material that the money is made of. Historically, most currencies were based on physical commodities such as gold or silver, but fiat money is BASED SOLELY ON FAITH and credit of the economy. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Vict/45-46/61
Putting faith into what its worthless wouldnt you sooner put your faith in love , something that has value ??? Is it worth a try at least ???
If I said we can fix everything that is truly wrong in this world with love would you beleive me ??? We think we know love we know nothing love isnt a thought its a feeling that ignites our souls that feeling we get when we are with friends and family enjoying life thats the feeling not the thought... If its as simple as just living for today why cant we do it ??? i again look back to 60`s i also see the govermental programs which went into full swing around that time https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/…/hearings/95mkultra.pdf http://conspiracy.wikia.com/wiki/Monarch_Project https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Bourne_(film)
So conspiracy you say ??? is that not just another label , a label set up to keep you from the truth ??? where did these ideas come from ??? likewise The Matrix And even the film Conspiracy Theory ??? Its always conspiracy until we expose them !!!
So am i sure there are forces at play that we dont understand ??? Is there really magic in us ??? Dont you know about the watchtowers ??? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchtower_(magic) ... John Dee knew https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Dee !!! John Dee told us that there exist multipule dimensions your own goverments see the value look at the latest tech and why would they be comunicating with different dimensions if they dont exists ??? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/…/Entering-103rd-dimension-Scien… lead-ultrafast-computers-means-Schr-dingers-famous-cat-actually-alive-dead-101-states.html
This is occult magic not the devine type the magic which has evil at its heart !!! So what did John Dee and the mastermind behind the USA have to do with each other ??? did they set up the first grand lodge ??? https://uk.video.search.yahoo.com/search/video… invalid#id=2&vid=2b8b7dbd2390d79dc01dc803dbc81cd2&action=view
What was it JFK said ??? https://wakeup-world.com/…/20/jfks-speech-on-secret-societ…/ Did he know ??? did they kill him because he knew ???
Have you figured it out yet ??? They use there forces against us mainly because we forgot !!! Want you magic ??? its the music !!!
Let me try to explain !!! if you havent heard of Nikola Tesla it may be hard to make sense of it so heres a bit about tesla http://awakeningtimes.com/3-6-9-a-key-to-the-universe/ !!! Learn about Tesla and see the magnificence of the 3,6 and 9 look at the number 3 throughout history !!! like films ??? whats hunger games all about then ??? how many fingers do they hold up in honor of Rue how many times do they whistle ??? 3 its a divine number !!! now look at all the good music and see if you can find the 3`s ??? heres one example http://www.metrolyrics.com/freedom-lyrics-george-michael.ht… look how many songs have been sung about FREEDOM, GOD, GRACE ??? Is some devine nature trying to help ??? once you see it you cant forget !!!
So how do they control us ??? Fear thats how always FEAR !!! I remember 9/11 i saw the "control" gained with there new so called laws while we all sat in shock and terror they made their moves !!! Do you know what terror is ???
The Definition : ter·ror /ˈterə noun noun: terror, plural noun: terrors 1. extreme fear: "people fled in terror" synonyms: extreme fear, dread, horror, fear and trembling, fright, ... more ▪ the use of terror to intimidate people, especially for political reasons; terrorism: "weapons of terror" ▪ A PERSON OR THING that causes extreme fear: "his unyielding scowl became the terror of the Chicago mob" ▪ the period of the French Revolution between mid 1793 and July 1794 when the ruling Jacobin faction, dominated by Robespierre, ruthlessly executed anyone considered a threat to their regime. 2. a person, especially a child, who causes trouble or annoyance: informal "placid and obedient in their parents' presence, but holy terrors when left alone" synonyms: rascal, rogue, rapscallion, devil, imp, ... more
Mainstream Media terrorists THE THING ??? Do they not cause exteme fear ???
Do the occultists thrive on that fear ??? They manipulate the media to cause as much fear as possible keeping you in a constant daze !!!
Remember Manchester ??? Ariana Grande , so what was that about ??? have you looked at her music have you seen the 3`s ???
They are here to help us just like Micheal Jackson was !!! look at his music look at the songs just open your hearts and see !!! Now what happened to MJ ??? you tell me !!!
We are ignorant or at least we have been without doubt there is a connection to these events and this message !!!
The first day we tried to get this message out there were a number of things which happened , one to note is most certainly the mass censorship which saw floods of people effected hers a video of an idependant reporter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySl-C8ZebIo
So ask yourself why would the internet change so dramatically on the day we were trying to get this message out ??? Does someone not want you to see the truth ??? I can say that without doubt there have been forces against us at every turn !!!
Did we learn any of this at school ??? why not ??? is it because its part of the control system ??? what did you truly learn at school ??? were we just told what to say and when we say it right its an A , what happens when you question the narrative ??? i see a baby going to school in fear of not conforming. Let them be who they are let them dance let them enjoy life let them find themselves !!! Dont make them suffer for our mistakes !!! If we love our children then give them a life not a lie !!! Give them the chance to make a difference !!! Remember when you were young ??? were you told that you can do anything ??? The truth is with love in our hearts we can !!! Dont let this system steal our childrens hearts stand up and fight for them !!!
NOW MAKE IT RAIN !!! http://www.y8.com/games/make_it_rain

[Bitbusking] I'm a homeless artist and I need your help, AMA!

Greetings, I'm a homeless artist, my story is long so I'm going to keep it simple and as short as I can.
I had no formal education, no job, I was living with my family, even though I wasn't going to any college I was still studying online, Reading stuff here and there, I have a background as a musician and I started making music, I was getting better and I was figuring out where could I get a job online doing what I love. Eventually some things in my family started going weird, having a person living in your house eating food without formal education, I never really told anyone I was studying to start a career as a music producer or at least freelance with audio services. I won't specifically use an noun but a male in my family had an obssesive and horrendous relationship with a woman 4 years older than me, I never did nothing to her, I never tried to pick her up or have sex with her or anything like that, but she always looked at me with this face of pleasure, I never even payed attention to her, she fell in love with me for a while, and that was the beggining of the end of their relationship, she got pregnant and had a son with my familiar but the things between them were not going okay, she was cheating on him and my familiar was making some big investings, so she hold on until my familiar realized she was cheating on him and they broke up, he is an obssesive man, he was devastated and angry, he knew that she fell in love with me so he blamed me, he spoke to me and he said it was my fault, that I started all that, I told him the truth I never wanted anything with her but he did not listen, he just kept telling me to shut up, he hated me so badly that he started influecing my parent and my family to not keep feeding me, it was a slow process but he convinced them. Finally he went to my home one day, he had the keys and I was alone and he proceeded to destroy the 2 computers that I was using for music production (one for recording and the other one for dealing with the heavy processing power of the VST, the DAW, the software, etc) then he left, when my housemates (family) came they did not believe what I was telling them, they thought I had a psychotic breakdown they pointed out how I was just eating the food and not studying, I finally told them that I was in fact actually studying the whole time and that I was just about a month away to start my career, they said it was bullshit and they got way more angry and that even if that was true that wasn't real job, so finally the owner of the house (the person who gave me birth) decided that I wouldn't live there anymore.
Eating what I can, living with people's charity, sleeping in cold places, you get used to it and you get time to think about life, and I want to be legit, I am not going to "work for a living", it's not just worth it, what I'm gonna do is what I truly love and that is music, I live with fiat, bitcoin, my cheap earphones and a pendrive I found on the subway. Check out some of my tracks! I've been doing them in cybercafes with a portable program in my pendrive called LMMS:
https://my.mixtape.moe/phdorb.mp3 "Haze", This is an unfinished track in progress, you may like this one, think of it as triphop, house drums and vaporwave at the same time.
https://my.mixtape.moe/pdfdxo.mp3 "Unfolding", this is a little rap beat
https://my.mixtape.moe/yfcwpj.mp3 "Concrete", you guys are probably going to like this one as well this is the loop version of an industrial drum and bass song I'm currently working on
I also take song requests although I can't really make high quality music right now, I'm just using a piece of software that I have never used before and my cheap earphones so sorry if the quality is not so great.
What I'm asking is for a little bitcoin donation, with 10$ worth of bitcoin a day I can eat, I'd use paypal but I dont have bank accounts or credit cards so paypal will freeze my money if I dont "verify my account", what I do is I use local bitcoins to get fiat. Why not go busking in the street? I'm currently living in an undisclosed location in the american continent (not in north america where homeless people can live with just pennies because the local currency there DOES have buying power) And it IS economically hard to get food here. Please feel free to ask anything, if you want some tips on living unbanked or about music production (or how to become a music producer) street tips, how to sell bitcoin without a smartphone, etc please feel free to ask.
Thank you for your time.

EDIT: I apologize if this is not cyberpunk enough for the subreddit.
For those interested I have found this website called XBTfreelancer, I'll see what I can do there and I will come back with results.
Again thanks for your time :)

Mining. What will the “arms race” lead to?

The ten-year history of the blockchain has gradually convinced world experts that this phenomenon can still become the starting point for the transformation of the entire world economy. Perhaps this is still not a revolution and the technology is far from perfect.
But the main thing is that the precedent has been created and the development of alternatives in this direction is going on by leaps and bounds. The financial sphere is not the only one where the incentives are created by blockchain. A powerful infrastructure is built around it with attempts to implement technology into other spheres of human life. The production of crypto-currency, known to everyone as mining is one of such means. Cryptocurrency is the collective noun for digital currencies created on the basis of blockchain technology. For encryption, there is a special principle of cryptography, which protects information about transactions from theft and counterfeiting.
Mining is the process of cryptographic calculations with a use of special equipment. For Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies, it is the only way to maintain the integrity and workability of the system. Here is a brief description of the operating principle for the newcomers. Technology creates the ability to transfer value (information) from one user to another. At the same time, the transfer of non-existent value and the transfer of one unit to several addressees are excluded. The key to this is a large number of participants in the system and the economic motivation of the miners. Once a transaction is initiated in the system, it becomes visible to all participants. This transparency is both the main feature and the advantage of blockchain. No transaction is considered committed until the information about it gets into the so-called block and will be confirmed several times – this is the function that the miners provide. For a block to be considered generated, the program must compute a hash function – a unique alphanumeric code that contains information about the previous block. Thus, the distributed database in the blockchain is a chain of blocks, each of which refers to the previous one and stores the history of all transactions that occurred since the first coin appeared. Once the block takes its place in the chain, the miner who generated it receives a cryptocurrency reward – this is how coins are issued. In addition, the miners receive a commission from each transaction.
Blockchain – the technology of recording and storing information, when data is written in a continuous chain of blocks. It is based on the principle of distributed registries - information is copied and stored not on one server, but on all computers that are part of the blockchain system.
Now let's take a quick look at the evolution of mining, touching only the significant events. It all began in 2008, when an unknown programmer published a document on the network describing the algorithm of the quasi-monetary tool based on the technology of the blockchain. According to the published algorithm of Satoshi Nakamoto, the author of the document, the remuneration of the miners is reduced by 50% every 210 thousand of mined blocks. At that time, each newly generated block brought 50 new coins. Now more than 477 thousand blocks have been generated, and the reward for each new one has fallen to 12.5 BTC. It is expected that by 2140 year the reward will be so small that the issue will virtually stop and the volume of bitcoins will not exceed 21 million BTC. According to the idea of the creator, this will protect the cryptocurrency from inflation. It is unknown now whether Satoshi assumed or not how quickly his offspring would grow up. Mining on PC processors, the most massive chips in the world, supposed to make Bitcoin truly decentralized and popular. But for a while it still remained only the entertainment of geeks and enthusiasts. By 2010, the both Bitcoin exchange rate and popularity had grown so much that its mining started to yield a small income. Mining began to move to commercial sphere and the rivalry triggered technological race.
The Global Cryptocurrency Benchmarking Study research has shown that since Bitcoin appeared, the miners have earned more than $2 billion on mining and $14 billion on commissions from transactions.
In the summer of that year, a mining farm was first launched on the GPU and the first block was mined using parallel computations. Since then, the age of industrial mining began. Having smelt the money, miners around the world rushed to buy computer graphics cards. Despite the constant increase in equipment costs and attendant maintenance problems, the mining farms continue to attract new followers even now. According to the growing complexity of the cryptocurrency mining, pools, the miner unions, began to form. For one block search, a large number of farms with a high capacity are used, and the reward is divided due to the "labor participation" in it. The power consumption of one GPU is about 200 W, the average power of a medium farm is comparable or even higher than the equipment index in the data center. The problem of energy supply, as well as the noise level and heat that the equipment produces, does not allow the creation of large farms at home. For these reasons, mining has moved to warehousing areas where there is no problem with either noise or cooling, and electricity is available at industrial tariffs. The competition in the niche of the mining farms continues to increase, bringing new profits to the component manufacturers.
Farm is a data center that combines several video cards (GPUs). It shows high computing power, which allows several cryptocurrencies to be mined simultaneously.
In 2011, it became obvious that GPU farms consume too much electricity, require constant attention and additional costs. Enthusiasts were searching for solutions to reduce these expenses. The third mining business development iteration led to the appearance of miners on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chips. Such devices were quite expensive, but much more compact, stable and more energy efficient than the GPU farms. Energy consumption save was thousands of percent. But still, video cards remained the mass solution. Most likely the niche specialization of such machines was the impediment to their popularity. FPGA-miners did not last long and remained a niche product, which did not play a significant role in mass mining. But the developments of manufacturers of these devices were useful to ASIC-miners, which became the next generation of equipment for cryptocurrency mining. Unlike FPGAs, which are used for a variety of tasks, ASIC chips (Application Specific Integrated Cirquit) were designed to perform only one task. But they perform it much better than any farm. The difference in performance of similar devices makes tens of times. However, there is also a downside, which prevents the mass distribution of ASIC-miners - zero liquidity in the secondary market. They work according to the algorithm, which allows mining of only three cryptocurrencies known today. The production of this specific equipment lasts even now, but all producers have problems with delivery. This is indicated by the general complaints of customers at specialized forums. In the context of battered cryptocurrency rate, this factor strongly inhibits their sales. The "arms race" being an endless capacity build-up has reached the level when the most popular cryptocurrency mining is no longer economically justified. The current size of one Bitcoin block is 1 MB, which allows the system to process no more than seven transactions per second. Visa or MasterCard payment systems witness such index to reach about two thousand, with capacity expenses being several times lower. This makes the entire system clumsy and inconvenient, and increasing the commission from each transaction for the miners can ruin the Bitcoin economy, as well as any other coin economy.
ASIC – processors are manufactured with a special mining-friendly architecture. Such devices have a high payback rate and are easy to maintain. Among cons are low liquidity in the secondary market and rapid ASIC outdate due to the growing complexity of the network.
A complexity increase obviously cannot last forever and, sooner or later, there must be a transition to the next level. And this is the turning point where many questions may appear. What is the possible way of blockchain and mining development? This is important to understand, because an equipment worth hundreds of millions is at stake! What if it suddenly becomes useless? There are several assumptions. The first way is to reduce costs. Some hopes for this are provided by the development of alternative energy. Receiving freemium energy will reduce the cost of mining. This issue is regularly discussed on specialized forums. The creation of farms using solar, wind and geothermal power is still only at the stage of the concept. There have not been any major projects implemented. Due to the fact that the cost of equipment is still large, the entry threshold with such systems is very high, and the payback of equipment is still slow and thus risky. It is unlikely that this will become mainstream for the next five years, but the possibility of a breakthrough technology that makes renewable energy available, still exists. The second possible script is the abandonment of mining as a phenomenon. Bitcoin, which implies the efficiency of mining depending directly on the equipment productivity, uses the Proof-of-Work protocol. Some cryptocurrencies use the Proof-of-Stake protocol. They do not imply mining as a mandatory process at all. The system exists due to the circulation of cryptocurrency among users. By the way, this protocol is the one that Ethereum platform is planning to move to. This has already been stated by Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum: "When we move to the Proof-of-Stake protocol, the need for ether mining will drop sharply even at the first stage. Proof-of-Stake uses an algorithm which does not require that a large number of computers constantly make calculations. This is an algorithm where a coin is used inside the platform itself. The consensus will become much cheaper and safer. And in fact, miners can lose their business." Imagine the joy of computer gamers when suddenly the CPU prices fall dramatically! Now it is too early to speak about panic, but if the creators of other cryptocurrencies will consider this... The third way is to reduce the complexity of computation in the blockchain due to the use of alternative protocols of cryptography. Some industry enthusiasts are already working on such projects. If the complexity of the calculations goes beyond the reasonable, then why not change the operation of the system in general? So did, for example, the creators of Blockchain Ventureon.
Anton Sobor, the BDM of Ventureon, claimed: "The complexity of mining is laid by the blockchain creators themselves. What are they motivated by while creating such complicated algorithms? The answer remains unclear. The complexity has inconsiderable affect on safety. Creating our project, we proceed from the personal experience of our cryptography specialists, as well as from the principle of "necessary is enough". All the functions of the blockchain are preserved, with security only increasing, and complexity decreasing prominently."
It is also interesting that Ventureon mining does not require GPU. It is planned instead to create server-side mining pools, probably for easier and less expensive connection of the miners. This is likely to become a great advantage over another farms.
Of course, these are not all possible ways of mining industry development, but only the most vivid and obvious directions. There is one thing to say for sure. Mining being a mass business will exist only if the rate of specific cryptocurrencies increases. And this, in turn, depends on whether the blockchain will be accepted into the world economic system, as an alternative financial tool. The attempts to regulate the circulation of cryptocurrency at the level of individual states cause a strong resonance of the crypto community. That is perfectly visible on fluctuations of the rates of the basic cryptocurrencies. But, in my opinion, it is not possible to strangle the initiative of enthusiasts completely. The point of no return has been already reached. Blockchain as a phenomenon has been proved to be effective and will develop further, influencing the society strongly. And only time will tell what its future will be.

When creating a Bitcoin account, you need to issue a couple of private/public ECDSA keys. Then, you derive your account address by taking a 160-bit hash (through SHA-256 and RIPEMD) of the public key and use a custom Base 58 algorithm to convert it to alphanumeric values (see the picture below, I took it from this page).
